The ProVision 3 system is a product developed by LEIDOS.
The ProVision 3 detects a wide range of threats concealed on a person’s body, whilst respecting their privacy. As the latest version of the most widely used security scanner in airports, it is more compact and easier to integrate into its operational environment.

How it works

The patented detection system in the PROVISION range is based on the transmission and reception of millimetre-wave radio signals. The analysis of the acquired data using complex algorithms enables the automatic detection of metallic objects, ceramics and any other organic materials (such as explosives) that may pose a threat.
The PROVISION 3’s software architecture is natively compatible with open network architectures.
In addition to its high detection capabilities, the PROVISION 3 simplifies the positioning of individuals undergoing screening, respects privacy by eliminating gender-based distinctions, and improves throughput by minimising preparation procedures.

The automatic object detection software analyses the collected data to determine whether the individual poses a risk.
If a potential threat or an
anomaly is identified, the relevant area(s) are highlighted for the operator on a generic figure displayed on the control panel. This information then enables security staff to carry out a targeted search of the marked areas on the individual.
